Quote:
Pharaoh Overlord is an experimental rock-music band, featuring three members of the Finnish group Circle, Jussi Lehtisalo, Janne Westerlund and Tomi Leppänen. Originally begun as a vehicle to indulge their love of stoner rock, Pharaoh Overlord's output has become more varied, mirroring the development of their sister group. Their 2007 album Live In Suomi Finland features contributions from krautrock pioneer Hans Joachim Irmler. Julius Jääskeläinen and Pekka Jääskeläinen also appear on that recording, and have played regularly with the band since both in performance and in the studio.
Horn LP is a departure from the Lord's trademark motorik doom-kraut style. This is nasty, noisy full-on art rock from the outer reaches of space, like early Sonic Youth tearing it up with Crazy Cavan & the Rhythm Rockers. The album includes three previously unheard Pharaoh Overlord compositions and a Spacemen 3 cover. Recorded live in Lahti, Finland 2011. Released by June 6, 2011 by Svart Records SVR049 and Full Contact Records KRYPT-011.
Horn is the ninth album by Finnish experimental rock band Pharaoh Overlord. It is a live album, recorded in Lahti, Finland in 2010. It features four tracks in the repetitive heavy-riffing style of earlier Pharaoh Overlord albums, very different from the overtly Heavy Metal songs on Out of Darkness, released only a few months before.
It features a cover of the Spacemen 3 single Revolution, written by Pete Kember, alongside three original tracks.
